This nineteenth-century Victorian wall sculpture is a painted terracotta lion mask with detailed mane moulding and a snarling expression, finished in dark brown paint with inset glass eyes. The heavy relief carving shows intense facial features, furrowed brow details, and textured fur locks framing the face. It measures 31 cm high, 29 cm wide, and 13 cm deep. Suitable for domestic placement above the mantel, the piece mounts directly onto a wall surface as a decorative architectural accent. The solid terracotta construction displays original polychrome decoration with no breaks or damage, maintaining a very good overall condition appropriate for its age.
