Flintlock Pistol

An English gentleman’s flintlock man stopper pistol circa 1800/1820 . It has a side lock with makers name C . Stone London and an octagonal barrel. The slender swans neck cock which carries the flint is nicely engraved. The trigger guard and ramrod mount are made of brass also nicely engraved with makers name to the trigger guard. The ramrod is original to the gun and the walnut stock has its original laquared finish . It has a good crisp action when cocked . To the butt there is a silver initial plate.
 
These pistols would of been carried by gentlemen for their protection, hence the name man stopper .
