TJR Trading has dated this Qianlong Famille Rose Mug to the 18th Century.
It has a large central pictorial reserve depicting five figures in a garden setting.
The borders of the reserves are gilt and scrolling in the Rococo manner.The rest of the outside of the mug is decorated with a repeating red motif picked out with gilding. There is a diaper border to the inside of the rim. The handle is in the form of a dragon or serpent.

The handle has been damaged and restored in the past. It has been re-attached at two points with metal studs which are visible from the inside of the mug. Part of the bottom of the handle is missing. There is a chip 1.2cm wide on the inside of the rim of the mug. There is some wear to the gilding and the enamel, particularly the gilding on the handle.
