Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Famille Rose porcelain refers to Chinese ceramics decorated with opaque overglaze enamels dominated by pink and rose tones, developed during the 18th century Qing dynasty. Produced in Jingdezhen, these wares were tailored for Western export markets and featured narrative scenes, diaper borders, and floral motifs.

These mugs were potted from high-fired hard-paste porcelain clay before receiving a clear glaze and initial firing. Craftsmen then applied detailed enamel decoration and gilding by hand over the glaze, firing the vessel a second time at a lower temperature to fix the enamels.

Authentic Qianlong export wares typically display hand-painted enamel brushwork with subtle variations, an unglazed foot rim showing fine white porcelain paste, and characteristic iron-red cell pattern grounds. Moulded handles, such as dragon or bifurcated strap forms, were also commonly used on export tankards during this period.

Export porcelain pieces style well inside glazed display cabinets, on open bookshelf arrangement shelves, or positioned on a sideboard alongside neutral-toned contemporary objects. Combining historic ceramics with clean-lined timber furniture highlights the visual texture and colour of the hand-painted enamels.

Clean enamelled porcelain gently using warm water and mild liquid detergent applied with a soft cloth. Avoid abrasive sponges, chemical cleaners, or immersion in hot water, as these can degrade fragile overglaze enamels and original gilding.
