Late 19th century stunning Austrian terracotta sculpture of a female water carrier by Frederic Goldscheider, with the Frederic Goldscheider stamp and foundry numbers. This sculpture is in wonderful condition, patinated in naturalistic colours. It is a fantastic size.

Frederic Goldscheider opened his famous Goldscheider factory in 1885 in the city of Vienna. He worked in several mediums including ceramics, bronze and terracotta. He produced wonderful pieces of exceptional quality, winning various awards at the world fairs where he exhibited many of his works. He employed many famous and independent artists who created designs for him. He was an outstanding artist who's sculptures are greatly sought after today.

Friedrich Goldscheider founded his manufacture in Vienna in 1885, becoming a leading producer of terracotta, bronze, and ceramic art objects. During the late 19th century, the company gained international recognition for high-quality genre figures, Orientalist themes, and Art Nouveau sculptures created by prominent contemporary artists.
