Description

An exceptional Regency painted tole tray on stand of large proportions; the rectangular tray finely painted with a classical scene of Queen Boadicea holding a torch aloft, in a four horse chariot. Surrounded by her adoring people bearing gifts with angels and cherubs in the clouds. Within a border of gilt flowers and foliage; the raised edge with trailing foliage and pierced carrying handles to either side. Sitting on a good quality, custom made, ebonised later stand simulating bamboo with cluster legs and parting feet united by an 'x' stretcher.
