Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Killarney Ware refers to a 19th-century Irish craft movement originating in County Kerry that produced decorative items and furniture using native woods like arbutus. These pieces feature distinctive foliage, shamrock, and botanical marquetry patterns created for tourists and collectors.

These tables were constructed primarily using native Irish arbutus wood, yew, and walnut, often lined with mahogany or pine. Intricate marquetry patterns were executed using contrasting wood veneers, including holly and boxwood, to display decorative motifs.

Authentic pieces showcase hand-cut timber inlays depicting traditional Irish motifs such as shamrocks, ferns, or historic landmarks like Muckross Abbey. Construction elements include period-correct hand-turned columns, dovetail drawer joints, and Victorian pedestal bases.

Position the table in a bay window or empty corner where natural light highlights the wood grain and marquetry details. It serves as an accent piece beside traditional seating or as an occasional display surface in a hallway or study.

Dust the surface regularly with a dry microfibre cloth and keep the item away from direct sunlight or radiator heat to prevent veneer lift. Apply a clear beeswax polish once or twice a year to maintain moisture balance and preserve the natural wood finish.
