Fabulous Art Nouveau "Geschutz" Double Inkwell / Inkstand C.1895

Description

A magnifificent and most stylish Austrian Art Nouveau inkstand by the top-notch manufacturer Geschutz, signed on the underside.

A very unusual feature of this is the organic pen rest in the centre which is in fact on a pivot, made to move around (pen shown for demonstration only and not included). There are two wonderful original hefty crystal inkwells with polished brass collars and hinged lids.

Dating to the late Victorian era, around 1890, it remains in superb condition. The stand measures 14 1/2" x 6" and each inkwell measures 2 1/2" x 2 1/2".
