This Regency period porcelain teapot by Samuel Alcock and Company dates from 1825 to 1830 and follows a half orange form with a moulded spout and an arched handle. The piece is finished in a deep cobalt blue glaze alongside white panels, gold leaf gilding, and hand-painted polychrome enamel decoration. Visual details comprise a hand-painted pink rose within a central floral cartouche, a melting snow border with gilt vine relief, and a small round lid with a matching floral painted motif and a gold-accented finial. Practical dimensions measure 13 cm in height and 30 cm from handle to spout, with a capacity of approximately 1.2 litres. A buyer today would display this teapot upon a sideboard top or within a dining room vitrine as part of a traditional table setting.

Regency period English porcelain from the early 19th century is characterised by rich gilding, hand-painted botanical panels, intricate relief moulding, and deep ground colours such as cobalt blue and crimson.

Early 19th-century teapots were crafted from porcelain, press-moulded or slip-cast into complex geometric shapes, and decorated using overglaze enamels and applied gold leaf detailing.

Authentic Samuel Alcock porcelain often features distinct painted pattern numbers on the base, characteristic cobalt blue glazes, relief-moulded foliage motifs, and fine polychrome floral vignettes typical of Staffordshire manufacture.

An antique porcelain teapot functions as a decorative accent when displayed on a dining room sideboard, arranged inside a glazed china cabinet, or incorporated into a tray arrangement on a console table.

Hand-painted porcelain should be cleaned gently using warm water and a mild detergent, avoiding abrasive sponges, soaking, or automated dishwashers to protect delicate gilding and enamel decoration.
