In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

FAQs

Art Deco barware from the 1920s and 1930s is characterised by geometric shapes, clean lines, and symmetrical motifs. Design elements frequently incorporate streamlined metallic components paired with contrasting glass or early synthetic surfaces.

Trays from this era commonly utilized polished chrome, nickel, brass, Bakelite, and reverse-painted or frosted glass. Frame construction relied on joined metal borders and tubular or arched metal handles attached to rigid structural bases.

Authentic pieces exhibit construction details typical of early 20th-century manufacturing, such as slotted screw fastenings, solid cast or bent metal handles, and natural surface patination or light oxidation on non-exposed metal joins.

An Art Deco tray can be placed on a sideboard, coffee table, or console surface to group decanters, glassware, or decorative objects. The geometric metal frame provides visual structure and reflects surrounding ambient light.

Glass surfaces should be cleaned with a soft microfiber cloth and a mild glass cleaner, avoiding liquid ingress beneath the frame edge. Chrome or nickel metalwork requires a non-abrasive metal polish applied sparingly to prevent damage to the finish.
