FAQs

Georgian wall brackets, historically referred to as corbels, were designed as decorative wall-mounted supports used to display valuable objects such as porcelain vases, clocks, or carved busts.

During the Georgian era, craftsmen primarily used dense hardwoods such as walnut, mahogany, and carved gilded pine to execute intricate hand-carved architectural details.

Authentic Georgian examples exhibit hand-carved tool marks, subtle wood shrinkage along the grain over time, hand-carved asymmetrical variations, and historical mounting joinery on the reverse.

Carved walnut brackets can be mounted symmetrically above a sideboard, flanking a fireplace, or positioned in a narrow wall space to elevate ceramics or modern sculptural pieces.

Maintain walnut brackets by dusting regularly with a soft, dry lint-free cloth and applying a clear beeswax polish annually to protect the original finish and wood patina.
