This Georgian period Regency style John Rose Coalport porcelain teapot comes from a déjeuner set dated to circa 1805. The cylindrical body holds white glaze, monochrome and gold painted classical figures alongside a horse motif, finished with a heavy gilded spout, rim, handle, and base, plus a round finial on the lid. The surface reveals hand-painted scenes on both sides, a small star crack to the base, and unmarked details. The teapot measures 11 cm high, 17 cm wide, and 9 cm deep in practical terms. Display this piece on a sideboard top in a living room or dining room as a decorative tableware accent or a cabinet collection item today.

Regency period Coalport porcelain, produced under John Rose in the early 19th century, is known for its hard, translucent hybrid body, rich gilded embellishments, and Neoclassical visual themes inspired by antiquity.

These teapots were typically crafted from soft-paste or early bone china ceramic formulations, decorated with hand-painted enamels, and highlighted with burnished mercury gilding applied by skilled craftspeople.

Authentic early Coalport pieces frequently feature unmarked bases or impressed numeric pattern codes, precise wheel-turned or moulded shapes, and distinctively rich gilding techniques characteristic of early 1800s production.

An antique porcelain teapot serves as a sophisticated accent when displayed on a glass sideboard, integrated into a curated dining room display cabinet, or arranged atop a tray on a library side table.

Gilded antique porcelain should be gently cleaned using a soft cloth dampened with lukewarm water and mild soap, avoiding abrasive sponges, harsh chemicals, or immersion in hot water to prevent gilt loss.
