This tiny vanity-bag or 'chanteh' is beautifully woven in kilim technique on the face with a narrow band of very fine soumak weave at the very top. The back is in simple plain-weave with narrow bands of red and brown wool.

Made by Shahsevan nomads during the second half 19th century, this chanteh is in excellent, original condition.

Size: 15 x 19cm (6" x 7.5").
