Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Imari porcelain originated in Japan during the 17th century and was widely imported into Europe, inspiring British ceramics makers such as Royal Crown Derby to produce their own rich, gilded interpretations featuring dark blue, iron red, and intricate gold leaf patterns from the 18th century onwards.

These items were crafted from fine bone china, fired at high temperatures for translucency and durability, then decorated using hand-applied enamels and 22-carat gilding before undergoing multiple firings to fix the detailed glazed finish.

Authentic pieces feature backstamps with the Royal Crown Derby crown logo, specific year cyphers, and pattern numbers (such as 1128), alongside hand-painted decorator marks and consistent, high-quality gilding.

Position the dish on a mahogany sideboard, coffee table, or console surface as a focal catch-all tray, or display it inside a glass-fronted cabinet alongside contemporary ceramic pieces to add rich colour and texture.

Wash gently by hand in lukewarm water using mild dish liquid, avoiding abrasive sponges or chemical cleaners, and never place gilded porcelain in a dishwasher or microwave.
