D and A Binder Ltd has dated this Gothic Revival Oak Pulpit to the Victorian era.
The panels are divided by turned oak columns with carved capitals, with a row of individually carved flower heads running beneath the moulded oak top.

The reverse is simply panelled and retains a small internal shelf. We believe the piece originally formed part of a larger pulpit arrangement and would most likely have been raised, possibly with an adjoining staircase.
The oak has a lovely deep colour and patina, with plenty of wear, knocks and marks from its many years of use.
