A George III Pull Out Pillar Table by Thomas Butler of London

Description

Made from well figured Cuban mahogany, the table has a movement which allows the end leaves to be pulled open and an original loose leaf inserted. The table stands on a gun barrel stem with four reeded splay legs that retain their original brass box casters. With the original engraved brass trade plate Thomas Butler of London. The quality and colour are both excellent and this is an ideal Georgian dining table where space is a premium. Circa 1785. The loose leaf measures 67cm wide and the table can of course be used without it inserted.
