Description

"Night and Day - Woodland Elves", a beautiful lustre bowl by Daisy Makeig-Jones for Wedgwood. Fine condition, with a clear "ring". The Fairyland Lustre series was launched in 1915 and ended in 1929. There are some reflections from photography.

The Design Gallery has specialised in original Art Deco, Art Nouveau and Arts and Crafts Movement for 23 years. We adjudicated the decorative arts sections for editions of the Miller's Antiques Price Guides, and wrote the chapters "Art Deco Ceramics" and "Art Deco Furniture" for Judith Miller's coffee table book "20th Century Design."

The Kent showroom is open on Fridays and Saturdays 10am-5pm, close to Lingfield, Surrey; East Grinstead, West Sussex; and Edenbridge, Kent. Other days are usually available by arrangement.

We are widely experienced in UK and international shipping of fragile objects, lighting and furniture.

Wedgwood Fairyland Lustre is a distinct line of decorative porcelain produced by the English pottery firm Wedgwood in the 1910s and 1920s. Designed by artist Daisy Makeig-Jones, the series features complex fantasy landscapes, mythical creatures, and fairy folklore rendered in metallic glazes.
