Description

A delightful and rare pair of Wedgwood miniature lustre bowls, Z5294 pattern, designed by Daisy Makeig-Jones circa 1915. The Blue Lustre exterior features stainings, dark blue mottling, and a continuous gilt frieze of flying geese. Inside, the Orange Lustre ground with crimson mottling is framed by a gilt border of bird silhouettes and centred with a finely hand-painted gilt hummingbird. Measuring 2.8 cm high and 5.6 cm in diameter, these small-scale works were produced in limited numbers and are highly desirable as a matched pair in such fine preservation.

Condition: Excellent antique condition.
