M Lees and Sons has dated this Four Fold Canvas Screen to the 19th Century.
. Each fold having 3 panels divided by embossed bands and corresponding bound edges. The obverse side having an ebonised wooden frame and a black background with hand-painted floral sprig decoration.

Highly decorative screen in imitation of a scarce C18th Dutch embossed and tooled leather screen, for use perhaps as a room-divider , privacy or draught screen or alternatively mounted flat against a wall to provide decorative a panelling feature.
In generally excellent ‘country-house’ condition, having only minor splits and repairs to the panels commensurate with age , use and purpose.
