This unusual corner table is made in the mid-twentieth century in a Georgian style influenced by earlier English country furniture. Constructed from solid oak, the piece has a warm medium brown timber colour with visible wood grain and a smooth polished finish. The design incorporates a triangular upper section with a single frieze drawer fitted with an ornate brass drop handle, positioned below a stepped top moulding. A shaped apron skirts the upper framework, supported on four slender baluster-turned columns that rise from a lower triangular tier shelf. The structure rests on four small rounded feet positioned beneath the corner posts and shelf corners. The table measures 69 cm high, 42 cm wide, and 32 cm deep. Placed in a traditional home, it fits into an empty corner to provide surface display space and storage for small items while making use of an otherwise neglected area.
