Produced primarily during the nineteenth century in Staffordshire, England, these lead-glazed earthenware figures were created as decorative items for domestic interiors, depicting folk themes, royalty, occupations, and popular narrative subjects.

These ceramic items were press-moulded using earthenware clay, fired, coated in a lead glaze, and subsequently detailed with underglaze cobalt and overglaze enamel pigments, occasionally featuring applied shredded clay for added texture.

Authentic nineteenth-century figures feature press-moulded hollow bases, small vent holes, visible glaze crazing, hand-painted polychrome decoration with slight variations, and flat or minimally detailed unglazed backs.

Arrange them symmetrically on a mantelpiece, window sill, or inside a display cabinet to incorporate historical texture, traditional British craft, and vibrant accents into modern or classic rooms.
