There are two drawers with nicely turned handles and fine, hand cut dovetailed joints. There is a gorgeous inset burgundy leather top with gold tooled edges, the leather has a beautiful colour tone. Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

A Victorian writing table is a 19th-century desk typically crafted from mahogany or walnut, featuring a flat top often lined with a leather insert, frieze drawers, and turned or reeded legs.

These tables were primarily constructed using solid mahogany, walnut, or rosewood, with gold-tooled leather inserts for writing comfort and brass castors attached to turned legs.

Authentic pieces feature hand-cut dovetail joints inside the drawers, natural age patina on the timber, original brass hardware or castors, and period-appropriate wood wear beneath the frame.

Pair the table with a sleek modern task chair or position it as a hallway console table to balance traditional wood tones with contemporary interior architecture.

Dust the surface regularly with a soft dry cloth, apply a high-quality beeswax polish annually along the wood grain, and clean the leather inset with a dedicated leather conditioner.
