Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Produced during the reign of King George IV between 1820 and 1830, these tables bridge the transition from Regency elegance to early Victorian functionality. They typically display classical proportions, reeded or turned legs, and fine hardwood veneers such as mahogany or rosewood.

Furniture makers of this era utilised solid mahogany or mahogany veneers over oak or pine drawer linings. Drawers were assembled using hand-cut dovetail joints, mounted on turned wooden legs, and finished with solid brass castors.

Authentic pieces feature hand-carved details, slight irregularities in hand-cut dovetails, and original brass fittings. Look for age-appropriate oxidation on wood surfaces, particularly inside drawer cavities, and genuine wear on original brass castors.

A small occasional table functions effectively as a side table flanking contemporary sofas, a nightstand in a bedroom, or an accent piece in a hallway. The dark mahogany tones contrast cleanly against neutral wall palettes and soft upholstery.

Dust surfaces regularly with a soft, dry microfibre cloth and apply a natural beeswax polish twice a year to preserve the wood finish. Keep the piece away from direct heat sources and radiators to prevent timber shrinkage or veneer lifting.
