A 19th Century Cast Iron Boot-Scraper Inset to Hewn Stone Block, 33cm.
A bold 19th century cast iron boot-scraper, inset to a hand hewn stone block, typical of the English country house and most probably estate made.
An impressive architectural iron scraper with square block columns, united by a bridge-scraper. The iron and stone show a handsome timeworn, weathered appearance and exposure to the outdoors and use. The bridge-scraper section shows some distress and wear at 1 end where it joins an upright, this being not unusual for age, whilst a little weaker it still supports itself independently and remains effective as a boot-scraper.
A superbly stylish doorstep antique boot-scraper with a considerable decorative appeal and country house aesthetic.
