These neat Regency style bedside side tables from 1930 come as a matching pair, made from solid mahogany wood in a rich dark brown colour. Each piece stands tall and slender on finely turned legs linked by curved X-frame stretchers, rising to a tray top gallery with a raised rim. Two drawers feature mahogany linings, ebonised drawer edging, and small round black wooden knobs, bringing practical storage to a compact footprint. Minor surface marks appear on one top surface, while both tables remain in good, strong structural condition overall. Measuring 76 cm high, 37 cm wide, and 29 cm deep, they offer versatile utility in narrow domestic spaces. Homeowners today place bedside tables like these beside a bed as nightstands, or use them as lamp tables or side surfaces in a living room, hallway, or study where space is at a premium.

FAQs

Regency style bedside tables typically feature refined proportions, mahogany construction, raised tray or gallery tops, and elegant turned or tapered legs.

Traditional pieces are crafted from mahogany wood using dovetail drawer joints, turned wooden handles, and curved cross-stretchers for structural stability.

Authentic period pieces show evidence of hand-planed timber, hand-cut dovetail joints, natural wood shrinkage around drawer linings, and genuine age-related surface wear.

Position the pair symmetrically on either side of a bed frame, decorated with slim table lamps and minimal decorative accessories to preserve clear proportions.

Dust regularly using a dry microfibre cloth and apply a soft beeswax polish twice annually, avoiding silicone aerosol sprays and exposure to direct heat sources.
