A Substantial 18th Century White Marble Mortar 50cm diameter, probably Italian.

An impressive scale 18th century, hand carved carrara or white marble mortar, possibly French but probably Italian and measuring 50cm diameter.

The timeworn, weathered appearance helps authenticate and provides an established character. Whilst it shows exposure to the outdoors, these are superbly decorative for interior use.

The large scale models of these are quite rare and considerably desirable, this being a handsome and fine example.
