An Edwardian perpetual calendar is a desk accessory manufactured during the Edwardian era designed to be reused year after year by manually adjusting day, date, and month rollers or cards.

They were commonly crafted from solid timbers such as oak, walnut, or mahogany, often featuring brass fittings, ceramic inserts, or printed paper rolls.

Authentic pieces typically exhibit period-appropriate joinery, natural timber ageing, original mechanical components like turned wooden knobs, and vintage typography on the date rolls.

It functions effectively as a functional decorative object on a home office desk, bookshelf, or mantelpiece, blending historic texture into contemporary study spaces.

Keep the item out of direct sunlight to prevent timber fading, avoid excessive moisture, and occasionally nourish the wood with a microcrystalline wax to maintain the finish.
