Description

A grand pair of early 19th Century ‘Grand Tour’ carved Carrara marble Tazza in the neo-classical manner. The flared rims with moulded edges above gadrooned waists and raised on swept socle bases with square plinths. Circa 1820. A rare article in overall good condition with light weathering. One old thin 1.5" chip to underside of the rim which will generally sit to the back of the view points so its is not noticeable, one historic repair to the dish which is also barely noticeable and does not detract from the overall appearance.

Comes with pair of contemporary plinths, which can be painted a different colour for your preference. 71.5cm High. Overall height 123.5cm
