A charming mid-19th century mahogany writing table of smaller, highly usable proportions, dating to circa 1850. The rectangular top retains its original tooled leather inset, beautifully worn and characterful, framed by a crossbanded mahogany border with rounded corners.
The frieze houses two drawers with turned knob handles and original brass escutcheons. The table stands on elegant tapering turned legs terminating in brass cup castors, giving the piece both movement and refinement.
A practical size for use as a side desk, hall table or small writing station, with a wonderfully warm colour and patina.
Good antique condition; leather with expected wear appropriate to age. Drawers run smoothly and the table is structurally sound.
