We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

FAQs

Elm farmhouse tables originated in rural homesteads where durable, locally sourced timber was utilised for heavy-duty daily domestic tasks, food preparation, and communal family dining.

These pieces are constructed predominantly from solid native elm, featuring pegged mortise and tenon joinery, heavy planked tops, and sturdy handcrafted underframes designed for longevity.

Authenticity is indicated by natural timber grain variations, hand-planed surfaces, period-appropriate tool marks, historical wear patterns, and traditional joinery without modern fasteners.

Pair the rustic surface with minimalist modern seating to create a balanced contrast, allowing the organic timber grain and historical texture to serve as the focal point of the room.

Maintain the timber by dusting with a dry cloth, avoiding direct sunlight and excessive heat sources, and occasionally applying natural beeswax to nourish the wood without sealing it with synthetic finishes.
