This large country house stick and umbrella stand is a Jacobean revival piece from 1900. Fashioned from dark brown oak, cane and rattan, the cylindrical stand incorporates woven bergere panels, vertical barley twist turned supports and a moulded rim with protruding corner extensions. The solid timber shows natural dark patination and wear appropriate to age across its structural surfaces. Measuring 64 cm high and 40 cm wide, it stands on small circular wooden feet. Positioned beside the front door in a hallway or entryway, the stand accommodates walking sticks, umbrellas, hockey sticks, tennis rackets and snooker cues.
