Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Aubusson tapestries originate from the towns of Aubusson and Felletin in the Creuse region of central France, where tapestry weaving began in the sixteenth century. By the eighteenth and nineteenth centuries, these workshops became famous for producing pastoral scenes, verdure landscapes, and mythologically inspired textiles for European estates.

Traditional Aubusson tapestries were hand-woven using low-warp looms with natural fibers, predominantly wool for structural warps and body, mixed with silk highlights for finer details, skin tones, and bright foliage accents.

Authentic pieces exhibit hand-spun wool and silk yarns, flat-weave construction, micro-slits between color transitions, and natural dye pagination that shows gentle, uneven fading on the front compared to the reverse side.

A large pastoral tapestry acts as a visual focal point when mounted on a neutral, minimalist wall above clean-lined modern furniture, creating architectural contrast between classic textile craftsmanship and contemporary design.

Preserve antique tapestries by hanging them with uniform support systems to distribute weight evenly, keeping them away from direct sunlight, maintaining low humidity, and relying exclusively on professional textile conservators for dust removal.
