Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Naive folk art rocking horses from the 19th century are characterised by simplified anatomical proportions, hand-carved wooden construction, and hand-painted finishes created by local craftsmen rather than industrial manufacturers.

Traditional rocking horses were typically crafted from solid timber, joined with wooden pegs or iron fittings, and finished with milk paint or oil-based paints, often incorporating real horsehair for manes and tails, along with genuine leather saddles.

Authentic 19th-century pieces usually exhibit signs of natural wear to paint layers, hand-forged metal supports, historic wood shrinkage or minor cracking, and hand-carved tool marks rather than uniform machine moulding.

An antique wooden rocking horse functions as a sculptural accent in living spaces, suitable for placement in an empty corner, beside a fireplace hearth, or within a hallway to add historical texture and character.

To preserve the original painted surface and timber, store the item in a climate-controlled room away from direct heat sources and dampness, dusting gently with a dry, soft microfibre cloth without harsh chemical cleaners.
