Antique Primitive Carved Wooden Vessel

19th century
Description

A 19th century treen hardwood vessel or container, carved from a single piece of wood and with a length of rope forming a handle. There is subtle carved line detail running around the circumference. This would make an attractive container for dried flowers or cooking utensils, for example.

A very tactile item, with a pleasing colour and patina. The rope handle allows it to be hung from a peg if desired.

Condition: There are a couple of old filled repairs where the timber has split slightly, but these are not at all obvious. In good condition overall.
