In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Crewel work embroidery from the early 19th century is a decorative textile art created using two-ply woollen yarn stitched onto linen, cotton, or silk grounds, frequently depicting pastoral scenes, flora, or figurative subjects.

Georgian needlework pictures typically utilised fine crewel wool yarns and silk threads worked onto woven silk or linen grounds, often framed behind glass in giltwood or dark timber frames.

Authentic period pieces exhibit natural oxidation on silk or linen backings, subtle colour fading from historical light exposure, hand-carved wood frames with original gesso gilding, and irregular hand stitching.

Mount framed textile art as part of a gallery wall alongside oil paintings, or hang it above a console table or sideboard to contrast traditional craft with contemporary furniture.

Keep antique needlework out of direct sunlight, store in humidity-controlled environments, and mount under UV-filtering protective glass with acid-free backing materials to prevent deterioration.
