Bronze plaque of a muse with two putti

Fine oval classical relief, the reclining figure of a Greek muse reading from a book of music and being entertained by two putti, one playing cymbals and the other a lute. The plaque mounted in a gilt frame with ribbed scarlet silk ground and a rosewood cross banded surround.

Continental, probably Italian, circa 1830 - 1880
