Antique Belgian cast iron umbrella / stick stand or fireplace stand.

The scallop shell base is quite unique for this type of iconic Belgian Liberty Hall or Fireplace Stand.

Marked underneath, still partially visible Martin Huy 1531.

Brussels is where the first Art Nouveau houses and interior decoration appeared in the 1890’s (visit the Horta House Museum plus many other buildings around the city) which is where this wonderful stand comes from.

A refund of the amount received by us for the item will be issued to the original method of payment once the item has been safely received. A deduction may be applied if the value of the item has been diminished by handling or use beyond what is necessary to inspect it.
