Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Edwardian wine tables, produced between 1901 and 1910, typically draw inspiration from 18th-century Neoclassical and Sheraton designs. Characterised by lightweight proportions, refined satinwood inlay, and elegant tripod bases, these functional pieces were designed to hold beverages or candles in formal drawing rooms.

Craftsmen predominantly utilised fine mahogany alongside exotic wood veneers such as satinwood, boxwood, and tulipwood for delicate marquetry or crossbanding. Construction features hand-carved central shafts, fluted stems, and dovetailed tripod leg joints secured beneath the column.

Authentic Edwardian pieces exhibit natural age-related patination, slight variations in timber grain, and precise hand-cut decorative inlays. Inspecting the underside reveals hand-carved construction marks, historic timber shrinkage, and traditional brass or wooden fixing screws rather than modern uniform hardware.

Positioning one table on either side of a modern sofa creates balanced symmetry, providing ideal surfaces for table lamps or drinks. Their slim profile makes them particularly effective in compact corners, hallways, or alongside armchairs to introduce warmth and historic character.

Keep the timber away from direct sunlight and heat sources to prevent cracking, veneer lifting, or colour fading. Dust regularly with a soft dry cloth and apply a high-quality beeswax polish once or twice a year to preserve the natural lustre and protect the delicate inlay.
