Strictly Vetted Dealers

Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.

Secure Transit

Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.

The Sustainable Choice

Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

The table has scalloped ends, rounded corners, and a thick pedestal base resting on scalloped block legs, complemented by six chairs with curved backrests and soft cream leather upholstery on the seats. Walnut detailing on the chair bases reflects the design of the table legs. The table stands 77 cm high, 189 cm wide, and 109 cm deep, while the chairs measure 97.5 cm high, 48 cm wide, and 42 cm deep with a seat height of 48 cm. A glass protective top is included with the set. Suitable for dining rooms or reception spaces, the suite provides formal seating for six people around a polished wooden surface.

FAQs

Art Deco dining room furniture, prominent in the 1920s and 1930s, is characterised by geometric shapes, clean curves, rich wood veneers, and streamlined silhouettes reflecting the modern industrial age.

Craftsmen frequently used decorative wood veneers such as burr walnut, birds-eye maple, and satinwood, paired with solid hardwood frameworks and upholstered seating in leather or woven textiles.

Authentic pieces typically feature heavy pedestal bases, book-matched veneers, rounded or stepped edging, and period-accurate construction techniques such as hand-cut joinery and clear lacquer finishes.

To style an Art Deco set within modern interiors, pair the warm timber tones with architectural lighting, neutral wall treatments, and minimalist tableware to allow the distinctive silhouettes of the table and chairs to serve as the main focal point.

Maintain wood veneers by dusting regularly with a dry microfibre cloth, keeping the set away from direct heat sources or sunlight to prevent drying or fading, and applying a suitable beeswax polish periodically.
