A very rare Georgian rosewood and satinwood turn over leaf gateleg action card table. This exceptional piece is finely hand carved with beautifully rich patination, fine grain, inlaid and with hand painted detail throughout. The well figured moulded, hinged top of D-end form folds back to reveal a fitted green baize playing surface and is adorned with a stunning crossbanded and hand painted border band of exquisitely detailed foliate and flowerhead motifs in gorgeous hues of golds, greens, reds, pinks and cream against green ground. Raised over a classically simple inlaid frieze with lovely elliptical and geometric panelling above elegantly tapering square legs featuring further panelling detail.
