Every single antique dealer on our platform is individually approved by our internal team. We verify their professional trade history, ethical standards, and photographic quality to ensure a secure, high-standard buying environment. Upon joining, every dealer agrees to a strict 9-point code of conduct. While issues can occasionally arise, our dealers typically resolve them swiftly and directly with the buyer. In fact, since our founding in 2002, Sellingantiques has only had to step in to help resolve an issue on roughly five occasions—a true testament to the quality of our dealers and their dedication to your happiness.
Our dealers are highly experienced in packing and shipping fragile, high-value antiques. Because you are in direct contact with the dealer, you will be able to easily go through all available shipping and insurance options together to ensure your item arrives safely.
Antiques are the ultimate green purchase. By choosing historical pieces over newly manufactured goods, you completely eliminate the carbon footprint of modern mass production while preserving exceptional, timeless craftsmanship.

Sevres style porcelain refers to late nineteenth-century ceramics produced across Europe that emulated the design language, ground colours, elaborate gilding, and hand-painted figurative vignettes popularized by the Royal Factory of Sevres during the eighteenth century.

These decorative pieces typically combine soft-paste or hard-paste porcelain with cast bronze mounts, which are finished using mercury gilding or electroplating techniques to create an ormolu surface.

Authentic nineteenth-century pieces feature hand-painted artwork signed by porcelain artists, high-density chased gilt-bronze fittings, distinctive ground glaze colours such as bleu celeste or rose Pompadour, and specific pseudo-Sevres factory marks painted on the glaze underside.

Position the comport as a focal point on a dark wood sideboard, marble console table, or central dining table, allowing its vibrant ground colour and gilded metalwork to contrast against neutral wall tones.

Dust gently using a soft, dry microfibre cloth or natural hair brush. Avoid water, abrasive chemical cleaners, or metal polishes on the gilt bronze, as moisture can damage both the gilded surface coating and the delicate overglaze enamel painting.
