An Exceptional Regency Mahogany Library Table.An outstandingly pretty library table.We are delighted to bring to you this stunning Regency Library table believed to be made around C1820. This lovely table is in a fine original condition which we have just enhanced by sympathetically restoring and waxing this table preserving the lovely lightly faded original rich Mahogany colour with lots of patina and charm.The solid Mahogany single plank top has a nicely moulded edge and has the nicest time worn patina in the top surface. This lovely top is above its stunning flame Mahogany frieze with a serpentine centre, unusually incorporating a hidden dovetailed drawer in the left hand side which is perfect for keys in a hallway. The frieze is also polished to the rear meaning this table could sit somewhere where the back is visible and being narrow could be used as a small 2 seater breakfast table, sofa/side table or console .The stunning original top stands on its octagonal descending pillar to a turned collar on a quadraform base which sits on its elegantly carved and scrolled feet complete with its original brass claw lightly polished castors.There is no movement or play in any of the joints as the table is being normally used, the top is flat with no bowing or twisting.Please note this item is in beautiful condition for its age as shown in the photographs below however being an antique item it does have the odd bump and repair here and there.
