A superb quality mid Victorian burr walnut sewing table.
Circa 1860.

The beautiful, highly figured burr-walnut top opens to reveal many compartments within, for storing sewing items etc. The central compartment having a fret-carved covered top, flanked by matching smaller compartment covers, with bone handles.

Supported on a turned vase shaped pedestal, with splayed quadriform legs, scroll turned feet and original brass castors.
The Walnut has developed a rich warm patina.
In excellent antique condition, expected signs of age and use. No key for the lock. The fret-carved central cover inside has a small fragment of wood missing.

Very robust, solid, sturdy and strong.
