Early C.18th Oval Oak Gateleg Drop Leaf Country Dining Table (georgian, Queen Anne, George I)

An early c.18th, oak, drop leaf gateleg dining table. This country table features a well figured, solid oak oval shaped top. Supported by substructure of turned gun barrel supports, with twin gate legs of which swing out to support the drop-leaves, supported by stretchers. Raised on turned bun feet. Single drawer in one end of the frieze with later knob handle.

This table measures approximately 72.75 cm (28.625'') tall, 153 cm (60.25'') wide leaves up, 49.5 cm (19.5'') wide leaves down, and 121 cm (47.75'') deep.

Please see the pictures for details of the items condition. - This table is in good condition, commensurate with its age, and is structurally sound and sturdy. Some age and use related marks and blemishes. No loose joints. A few historic and extinct worm holes, typical of old oak furniture, only visible in the substructure, and namely around a few of the feet. Though not affecting the structural sturdiness or the appearance. Now treated, by way of precaution. Top faded to a beautiful golden colour, attractive patina throughout, and an excellent wax polish finish. Fully serviced, cleaned, wax polished and now ready for use. - As with all vintage & antique furniture there will be signs of use, marks, wear & tear, etc.
