Here is a first for me....a superb early turned elm tazza....it stands on a short base and is decorated with incised ring turn decoration....being elm it has gained a beautiful colour and patina ....a tazza is a small shallow bowl , made of wood or glass and would be brought to the table with various after dinner treats once the main courses have been served....in good condition for a domestic item.....two visible shrinkage cracks, which are no depth, just surface only and typical of elm as it ages...they add to the appeal of this early piece..!
