Gillows Flower Table

19th century
Description

A very attractive satinwood 'flower' or side table, attributed to Gillows. C.1830

Wonderfully turned and carved with a dished serpentine shaped top, raised on a cluster columned base terminating in cabriole feet. The top is removable, revealing a tin tray.

This design of table can firmly be attributed due to its feature in the Gillows Estimate Sketch Books for 16 July 1822, another example appears in the S.Stuart, Gillows of Lancaster and London 1730-1840, volume II, page 97.
