Antique Georgian burr oak tripod tilt top lamp occasional table, dating from circa 1780. A beautifully proportioned and highly original Georgian piece, featuring a superb burr oak circular top, elegant turned pedestal and graceful tripod base, retaining its original metal tilt catch.

Crafted from richly figured burr oak, the circular top displays wonderful natural grain, colour and character, enhanced by over 240 years of careful use. The finely turned central column rises from an elegant tripod base with shaped cabriole legs, creating a timeless silhouette that complements both traditional and contemporary interiors. The original iron catch allows the top to be securely locked in either the horizontal or upright position, making it both practical and easy to store.

Tilt top tables became highly fashionable during the Georgian period, valued for their versatility and space-saving design. Originally used for serving tea, wine or candles, they are equally suited today as a lamp table, side table, occasional table or hallway accent piece, bringing warmth, history and craftsmanship to any room.
