Description

A charming early 19th century needlepoint sampler by Mary Cargill, with lovey decoration, depicting peacocks, trees, deer, with the embroidered initials D C to the left and I D to the right.

Small hole to the fabric just above the peacock's tail, otherwise strong colours and in good condition, with a neat edging to the work. Framers label to the back, James Dunn Edinburgh. Dated 1800-1820.
