This pair of nineteenth century hard-paste porcelain figurines represents Autumn and Spring in the Rococo Revival style, finished with hand-painted enamel colours and gold leaf accents. The female figure personifies Autumn, wearing a pink-and-blue striped skirt with floral patterns, a yellow sash, and a green-and-gold bodice, holding grapes in one hand and carrying a grape basket in the other. The male figure personifies Spring, wearing a purple hat, a green coat, a floral waistcoat, pale yellow breeches, and red boots, holding a flower sprig. Both figures stand upon pierced Rococo scrollwork bases with applied green bocage foliage. Each figure measures 22 cm high, 11 cm wide, and 9 cm deep.
