Antique wine tables gained popularity in 18th-century Britain during the Georgian period, designed specifically to hold bottles and glasses during social gatherings.

These tables are traditionally constructed from dense tropical hardwoods like mahogany, featuring a single central pedestal supported by three cabriole legs, often joined by a birdcage mechanism.

Authenticity is identified through traditional joinery methods such as hand-cut dovetails, timber shrinkage patterns, aged patination, and the density and weight of genuine old-growth mahogany.

Position the table beside a sofa or in an empty corner as an accent piece to add historical contrast, topped simply with a small lamp or a stack of books.

Maintain the timber by keeping it away from direct sunlight and heat sources, and apply natural beeswax periodically to nourish the wood and preserve the finish.
