Windmill from the Louis XV period, decorated with 2 Meissen porcelain figures and gilt bronze.

The movement of the mill signed inside ‘Bunon Fecit ParisiSe’ , and likely to be the work of the watchmaker Antoine-Robert Bunon.

The Meissen porcelain figures c1745: Harlequin and Columbine from the Weissenfels series (both bearing the crossed swords to the rear ).

Provenance: Sotheby's Monaco auction in December 1995, see final picture.

Decorative objects combining European porcelain with gilt bronze (ormolu) mounts gained immense popularity in 18th-century France and Germany.
